About the Asset
The Armada Kraken FPSO is a turret-moored floating production, storage, and offloading vessel located in the East Shetland Basin, UK North Sea, operating in approximately 120 meters of water depth.
The FPSO’s topsides host oil processing, gas compression, water treatment, and utilities facilities, with a design capacity of up to 80,000 barrels per day.
Katoni’s Role
Katoni was engaged to deliver facilitation and scribing support for the revalidation of HAZOP and SIL assessments across the entire topside and turret systems of the Kraken FPSO.
Our team led structured workshops to review process deviations, consequences, and safeguards, ensuring full alignment with current operational and regulatory requirements.
Pre-workshop preparation included aligning scenario documentation, risk parameters, and safeguard data to support systematic SIL assessment. Safety Instrumented Systems were reviewed using the risk graph methodology, evaluating the required Safety and Environmental Integrity Levels (SIL/EILs) for each function.
Understanding the Client’s Needs & Delivery
The client required revalidation of existing HAZOP and SIL studies in accordance with IEC 61511 and Bumi Armada’s internal process safety standards.
