James is an experienced business leader and economist. He joined Katoni after 5 years as a Director at Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC).  He has acted as an advisor to Government committees and media commentator on the oil and gas sector.

Prior to moving back to the North-east James worked as the Head of Regulation and Compliance for a large utility company following 10 years working in economic and management consultancy. James is accountable for all UK operations at Katoni.

Outside Katoni he is also Chair of Developing Young Workforce an organisation focused on engaging businesses in schools and he acts as a columnist in the Press and Journal. He is also a deeply frustrated amateur golfer and Aberdeen FC fan. 

As CEO James is accountable for all of Katoni's operations and plays an active role in the businesses committees and still enjoys regular engagemnet with clients and all of the team. There is a rumour James has asked for the photo below to be left in this area rather than on the front of the website as he was 5 years younger in the previous image.
